Registration

If you are enrolled at FU in mathematics, you must register via Campus Management to participate in the exam.
If you are enrolled in a department other than mathematics and you want to take the course, you must inquire with your department about the procedure for this course to be recognized as part of your degree.
If you are a BMS student at another Berlin University, please ask the BMS office about the bureaucratic procedures.

Homework

Every Wednesday evening an exercise sheet will be published on this website and on the Whiteboard platform.

The sumbission deadline is the next Wednesday at 20:00. (+ some tollerance)

Submission is individual and electronic on the Whiteboard platform as a single PDF file.

Please name the files: lastname_A1_hw**.pdf Note that "**" stands for the correct homework number.

For example: constantinescu_A1_hw05.pdf

Further information will follow after the first tutorial on Monday, October 14th, from 14:15.

Participation and Exam

To complete the course, you must pass the written exam and receive a pass for "active and regular participation".
Active participation: You must score 32 homework points in the Homework and be "active" at least twice.

"Active" means engaging significantly in mathematical conversation on course related topics. The tutorial is the best place for this, but this can be achieved during office hours as well.
Regular attendance: You will need 12 attendance points.

In each tutorial there are 2 attendance points to be gained by taking a 5-minutes-quiz: simply taking the quiz is worth 1 point and a correct answer is worth 2 points.
Exam
- There are two exams: the first on February 19th, 2025, and the second on March 31st, 2025.
- You are allowed to take both. If the first exam is passed, the best result will count. However, every failed attempt will be registered.
