National desks - Netherlands

The first activity of the Dutch desk has been the preparation of an inventory of all relevant national stakeholders resulting in a database of 130 actors involved in RES-E.

In order to gain an overview of stakeholder positions, in-depth interviews with key actors have been carried out. Aim of the interview is to diffuse the idea of the project, to commit actors to the project, discuss the problems and barriers involved in supporting renewables and establishing the core group of the Dutch desk. The interviewing will continue during the next six months. The involved stakeholders are RES-producers, investors, traders, technology producers, grid companies (TenneT and regional companies), CertiQ (Guarantee of origin), consumer organisations, public agencies (Ministry of Economic Affairs).

The next step concerned the creation of a questionnaire. An online survey has been activated, asking for example to evaluate the specific aspects of the Dutch green electricity market with a mark ranging from (1=extremely bad, 10=extremely good) and to evaluate the level and length of the current price support of green electricity. The survey will be repeated next year. The focus of the planned activities will be placed on:

  • evaluating the questionnaire,
  • providing a survey,
  • making an analysis of the various positions,
  • write a report providing an assessment of national strengths and weaknesses to increase renewables.
