which is located in the Dahlem area in the south-western district
of Berlin-Zehlendorf.
The
registration desk and the opening session on Friday
morning will be in the Harnack-Haus,
which is located on university campus:
Harnack-Haus
Ihnestr. 16-20

Phone: ++49 (0) 30 - 84133800
Plenary
sessions on Saturday as well as most panels will take place
in the Henry

in two-minutes walking distance from Harnack-Haus.
You will receive a detailed map on which all seminar rooms and conference
locations are indicated with your personal registration folder at
the registration desk.
How
to get to the conference venue
Arriving
by air:
There are three airports in Berlin: Tegel (TXL), Schönefeld
(SXF), and Tempelhof (THF). Most international flights arrive at
Tegel or Schönefeld. Both airports can be reached by public
transportation. From Tegel Airport, take the Airport Express Bus
X9 to Station Zoologischer Garten, locally also known as Station
"Zoo" (Bahnhof Zoo). From Schönefeld Airport, take
the metropolitan train (S-Bahn, marked by green "S" signs)
S 9 to Station Zoologischer Garten. From Station Zoo, you can either
take a taxi or use public transportation to get to your hotel. The
section on hotel information below explains
about how to get to each hotel from Station Zoo.
Arriving
by train:
All trains arrive or stop at Station Zoologischer Garten, locally
also known as Station "Zoo" (Bahnhof Zoo). From Station
Zoo, either take a taxi or use public transportation to get to your
hotel. The section on hotel information below
explains about how to get to each hotel from Station Zoo.
How
to get to the conference venue:
If you travel by public transportation, take either the subway train
no. 1 (U-Bahn in German, marked by blue "U" signs), or
bus no. 110. Exit at the station "Thielplatz", which is
just a few meters from the Harnack-Haus. Once you arrive at Thielplatz
station on 7 December, there will be signs guiding you from the
subway/bus station to the conference location.
You will also find details on transportation specific to your hotel
in our hotel information below.
Conference
schedule and format
A
short and a long version of the conference programme is available
for download from the programme section
of this website.
The registration desk will open on Friday, 7 December at 8.30 a.m.
The conference begins at 9.30 a.m. and will end on Saturday, 8 December
at 6.30 p.m. We will have both plenary and panel sessions. Panels
last ninety minutes each. Most panels will consist of three presentations,
followed by a discussion.
Submission
of completed papers
We
encourage presenters to submit their papers in advance to post them
on the conference website. If you do not wish to submit your paper
in advance, please bring a copy to the conference.
Registration
fee
Registration
fees can be paid either in advance (DM100/DM50 reduced) or at the
conference desk (DM130), as indicated in the registration
form. In order to assist our planning in preparing programme
folders, catering etc., it would be appreciated if all participants
registered by fax as early as possible.
Visa
For
a formal invitation letter for visa purposes, please contact Klaus
Dingwerth at dingwert@zedat.fu-berlin.de.
How
is the weather
Temperatures
are rather low in December, quite often as low as between 0°C
and 5°C (between 32°F and 41°F). Snowfall in early December
is quite unlikely, but still a hypothesis with some degree of plausibility
that has been verified at times in the past.

you need more information?
