The GIOVE project is part of a long term scheme for the research of the history of European art collections.

Accompanying GIOVE is a database of the Giustiniani collection, one of the most influential collections of the early Roman Baroque period. The database is multi-disciplinary, and in contrast to traditional databases, is particularly orientated towards justifying the contextual relationships of the data, with the intent that the influence of the Giustiniani collection in Europe be made clear.
