Some Notes on the Pentaglot Dictionary

The Pentaglot, a dictionary comprising Manju, Tibetan, Mongolian, Uighur and Chinese, with more than 18000 entries arranged by meaning, was compiled under the Qing in the 17th and 18th centuries. A first version of this text appeared originally in altainet. This article introduces the Pentaglot Dictionary and the Pentaglot Project which attempts to establish a modern edition of this unique treasure.
