The R package spatstat supports statistical analysis for
spatial point patterns. Its main focus is the analysis of spatial
patterns of points in
two-dimensional space. The points may carry auxiliary data
(marks), and the spatial region in which the points
were recorded may have an arbitrary shape.
The package supports:
- creation, manipulation and plotting of point patterns
- exploratory data analysis
- simulation of point process models
- parametric model-fitting
- hypothesis tests
- residual plots and model diagnostics
