The R package spatstat supports statistical analysis for spatial point patterns. Its main focus is the analysis of spatial patterns of points in
two-dimensional space. The points may carry auxiliary data (marks), and the spatial region in which the points were recorded may have an arbitrary shape.

The package supports:

An introduction to spatstat is provided by the package vignette Getting started with spatstat. For further information, visit the project on CRAN, visit the project homepage or dig through the over 1500-paged reference manual.

For examples of application of the spatstat package, also have a look at the subsections of Analysis of spatial point patterns within the Geodata Analysis chapter of this e-learning project.
