Sibylle I. Mayr - FUB
Dr. habil Sibylle I. Mayr
studied Physics at the University of Stuttgart from 1988 - 1993 and worked 1992/93 on her diploma thesis at the Institute of Geophysics (Stuttgart).
The subject of the theses was the "Investigation of the elastic behaviour of porous sediments at static stress".
In 1994/95 she worked at the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, Stuttgart.
From 1995 to 2008 she was member of the "Fachgebiet Angewandte Geophysik, Technische Universitaet Berlin (TUB)".
Till 2000 she was Assistant Lecturer and working as Scientific Employee on the ultrasonic behaviour of sandstones under hydrostatic pressure.
Afterwards she was employed on an "Elektro Kinetic Sounding" Project till 2002.
From 2002 - 2008 she worked on two Petrophysics Projects (Chicxulub and Chesapeake impact structures) at the TUB.
In August 2008 she joined the microseismicity group at the "Freie Universitaet Berlin".
She working in the field of rock physics and now concentrating on pore pressure induced microseismicity within
PHASE .
From May 2011 - March 2012 she was Gast Dozentin for 'Experimental Rock Physics' at the 'Institut fuer Geologische Wissenschaften/FU Berlin'.
From 2012 to 2018 we worked on the

"Stress dependency of seismic velocity in anisotropic siliciclastic rocks".
In 2019 and 2020 she was contributing as freelancer to
PHASE .
In 2020 she was lecturer in the course Geotechnics at the
DHBW Mosbach .
Since 2021 she ist staff at the Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) in Hannover in the field of
Final disposal of radioactive waste .

Nach dem Studium der Physik in Stuttgart war Dr. Sibylle Mayr von 1995 bis 2008 am Fachgebiet Angewandte Geophysik (TUB) als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin beschaeftigt,
zunaechst mit Lehraufgaben und nach Ihrer Promotion im Jahre 2002 in zwei Gesteinsphysikprojekten (Chicxulub und Chesapeake impact structures).
Von 2008 bis 2018 war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin Mitglied der Arbeitsgruppe Seismik / Seismologie an der Freien Universitaet Berlin (FUB) und arbeitete

Seit 2016 ist sie Privatdozentin an der Freien Universität Berlin.
Bis 2020 trug sie zur Arbeit des nichtkommerziellen Projektes PHASE bei.
Seit 2021 ist sie an der Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) in Hannover im Bereich der
Endlagerforschung beschaeftigt.
Ausbildung:
Im Juli 2016 erhielt sie die Lehrbefaehigung im Fach Geophysik.
Thema der Arbeit ist "Kombinierte Interpretation petrophysikalischer Eigenschaften von Impaktiten und Postimpaktiten"

Von Mai 2011 - Maerz 2012 war sie Gastdozentin fuer 'Experimentelle Gesteinsphysik' an der FUB.
September 2002 erlangte sie den akad. Grade Doktorin der Naturwissenschaften.
Thema der Arbeit: Der Einfluss der Mikrostruktur auf die Ultraschalleigenschaften von Sandsteinen bei hydrostatischen Druckbedingungen.
November 1993 beendete sie ihr Studium der Physik an der Universitaet Stuttgart. Vertiefungsfaecher Geophysik und Rela-tivitaetstheorie.
mit der Diplomarbeit am Institut fuer Geophysik. Thema: Untersuchung des elastischen Verhaltens poroeser Lockergesteine bei statischer Belastung.
1985: Abitur in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Physical properties of rocks (elastic and plastic properties, hydraulic permeability, internal surface, nuclear magnetic resonance, electrical and thermal properties), stress dependency.
Combination of experimental and theoretical research: petrophysics, rock physics, considering information from the field of mineralogy, petrography, geology.
Rock physics, especially elastic and anelastic properties, permeability, stress dependency, poroelasticity and plasticity � theory, petrophysical modelling.
Sedimentary rocks (carbonates, silicates, clays, shales). Impactites.
Development of experimental setup and measurement cells.
Experience with common field measurements, EKS.
