About the Bibliography

The updated version of the bibliography contains about 2.000 recently published monographs, book chapters and periodical articles. Only literature written in English or German is included. Special emphasis is placed on the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and on Germany after 1945 and 1989.

Compared to version 1.0, books and articles published in 1998 and 1999 have been included. More attention has been given to international criminal law, including the international criminal tribunals. I hope the new index is also helpful.

The bibliography is part of ongoing work at the Transitional Justice Project run jointly by the Law Faculties of the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, and Humboldt University, Berlin.

This is a draft bibliography and I cannot guarantee for the accuracy of the bibliographic data provided.

The bibliography is published with the intention to facilitate the exchange of research and to assist scholars, policy makers and human rights activists working in the field of transitional justice.
