NEW APA DIVISION

Announcing the formation of
APA Division 52 - International Psychology

APA's new division of international psychology was formed
to represent the interests of all psychologists who foster
international connections among psychologists, engage in
multicultural research or practice, apply psychological
principles to the development of public policy, or are
otherwise concerned with individual and group consequences
of global events. Anyone interested in international
psychology, both members and non-members of the American
Psychological Association, may join Division 52.

To encourage the development of international perspectives
in psychology, Division 52:

- sponsors programming at the annual meetings of the APA to
  stimulate interest and share information about
  international psychology;

- provides networking opportunities for psychologists from
  around the world through the quarterly newsletter
  The International Psychology Reporter, convention
  programming, and other activities;

- fosters and supports cross-cultural and international
  activities in other APA divisions through its liaisons;

- supports the activities of APA's International Affairs
  Office and its Committee on International Relations in
  Psychology (CIRP);

- provides a welcoming home base for APA's international
  affiliates during the conventions;

- encourages the internationalization of the psychology
  curriculum through educational initiatives and resources.

To join Division 52, contact the membership chair: Joan C. Chrisler,
Ph.D., Department of Psychology, Connecticut College, New London, CT
06320, USA. E-mail address: jcchr@conncoll.edu
