(Ph.D Illinois) F.R.S.C. - Stress, Anxiety, and Coping

General Areas: Personality, Clinical, History, and Theory

Ongoing research deals with three specific fields: anxiety; the person by situation interaction model of stress, anxiety and coping; and the multidimensional assessment of coping. With respect to anxiety, Dr. Endler has developed a multidimensional measure of state and trait anxiety, which is currently being used in ongoing studies on the interactional model of stress, anxiety and coping. Dr. Endler is investigating multidimensional coping strategies, and has developed a valid and reliable multidimensional measure of coping styles. Recent work has also focused on coping strategies used when faced with health problems.
