In March 2001 CIUTI Academy was founded as an offspring of CIUTI (Conference Internationale Permanente d'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes).

CIUTI Academy is a coordination platform for high-quality life-long T&I learning programmes offered at CIUTI institutes worldwide. The Academy’s clearing house function is intended to provide transparency as regards postgraduate T&I courses in a variety of language combinations, competence areas, and locations, and thus responds to the world-wide need for an international umbrella organisation dedicated to ensuring high quality in academic further education within the area of T&I.

Courses offered by CIUTI institutes through the Academy are academic, flexible (week-by-week, weekend, one-day) and internationally compatible. They deal with topics like general translation and interpreting as well as specialised areas, such as media translation, media interpreting, certified translation, community interpreting, technical writing, LSP translation, terminology (management), IT-technology and T&I, as well as T&I courses in languages not usually represented in CIUTI T&I training programmes (for example Lithuanian or Hungarian).
