Title: Adam and Eve in Motel 6 (BTC: Eve)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Spoilers: Eve
Notes: This was for the "Bad Touch Challenge" which involves
our two favorite agents somehow hooking up in each
author's assigned episodes. I felt like there wasn't
a realistic MSR moment in this episode, I decided
to be a little zany and silly with it! Enjoy!

Mulder and Scully watched the dark haired woman on screen.
The agents were sitting on the shabby motel bed in the room. Scully
turned finally to look at Mulder, speaking over the tape,
"Dr. Kendrick was the supervising physician in
both the Reardon's and Simmons' IVF program.
It seems she was experimenting at the clinic."
Mulder looked to his partner, raised eyebrows,
"Maybe now she's trying to erase the results?"
Scully doesn't have the answer and she turns back
to the tape. The pair continue to watch
in silence. These twins were so unusual.
Mulder couldn't wrap his head around this
one. Dr. Kendrick, on tape smiled like a
salesman, "... can't guarantee everyone's
success, but with our scientific advances, a
little luck, and a lot of hope... miracles can happen."
Miracles indeed. Scully shrugged her shoulders
slightly, saying to the man across from her,
"Well, she must have had an accomplice to have
done both murders."
"So you think this is a vendetta that she and a
colleague have against the Stapes Center?"
Mulder asked, looking back at Scully. The phone
rang suddenly and they both jumped. Mulder's
hand went for the receiver but Scully picked it
up first. As she lifted it, she spoke to Mulder in
playful jest in her voice, "Mulder, does this mean
you've abandoned your UFO connection?"
To the phone, "Hello?"
Click. Click.
Scully wrinkled her eyebrows, "Hello?"
She put the receiver back in the cradle and
looked to Mulder, saying innocently, "Just a
couple of clicks. Must be the wrong number."
Mulder suddenly perked up. Clicks. His contact
was signaling him. In an odd way, this ran an
excited thrill up him. He'd always wanted to be
a secret agent as a boy. Standing up, he rested
his hand on Scully's back, guiding her to the door,
"I'll tell you what... I'm going to sleep on it and
we'll talk about it in the morning."
Scully raised her eyebrow, immediately catching
on to his game, "Mulder..." she said, more
amused than anything else, "you're rushing me
out of the room."
Mulder scoffed, still pushing her towards the
door, "No, I'm not!"
As he reached to open the door, Scully turned, putting
her back against it. Mulder looked at her, surprised by
the move. She blocked his ability to shoo her out now.
"Scully, I'm not!" he laughed. She just smiled, giving
him a mock critical eye,
"You got a girl coming over?"
Mulder gave her a look and teased back, "Whattas girl?
Come on. I just... it's been a long night. You know. Knicks
game is on."
Scully's look decreased from amused to more worried. She
tilted her head. She hadn't been partnered with Mulder
that long but he'd already taken to abandoning her at
significant moments. She wasn't going to let him this time,
"What is it? Was that phone call something?"
Mulder swallowed, "What? The phone call from
before? No. Not at all."
"Mulder..."
"Scully! I'm serious. It's just been a long night-"
Scully huffed a bit, letting out some of what she'd
been feeling these few months partnered with Fox Mulder,
"You know, Mulder," she cut him off, "I might not
be your first choice but I'm here, too! I'm trying to
solve this case and I'm just as invested in this as you are!
"Scully..." Mulder tried to cut in but she was having none of it.
"And if you have vital evidence or a source or
something that could lead us to figure out what
exactly is going on here, I expect you to include
me in that! That's not a lot to ask, Mulder!"
"Scully!"
She still didn't listen. With no other option and a
desperate need to meet his informant before the
man disappeared... Mulder tired something he'd
seen in a movie once. Gripping Scully by
the arms, he pulled her to him, kissing the
surprised woman deeply.
He held her for a few moments, feeling himself
fall into the kiss, like it was natural. Under his
hands, he felt her melt, her shoulders relax as
she enjoyed it, too. Finally Mulder pulled them
apart. The couple stared at one another for a
moment, both a bit shocked by the interchange.
Neither one had planned it but neither one wanted
to admit how much they enjoyed it.
Mulder simply released Scully and she blinked.
"Well, I'll let you get to the game," she said quickly,
turning sharply. She opened the door and slipped
out. Mulder just stood there for a moment,
looking at the stark door.
Well, how was he going to be able to pay
attention to his informant now?
