Set in the sixties and seventies, a rural Mongolian family leads a regular and happy life, until the invasion of the country by Soviet troops - supposedly to «protect» Mongolia. Yet, instead of protection, the invadors bring in their train cruelty, bloody violence and sexual mayhem. There emerges, however, an unexpected love story between a young Mongolian woman and a foreign soldier.

Dulamsuren TSENDDORJ,Tumendemberel SARANTUYA, 2001, 23 min., video
This first documentary film by producer Tumendemberel Sarantuya follows the steps of one of the last travelling cinema projectionists in Mongolia. Based in the western part of the country, the projectionist travels from one nomadic community to another, carrying all his equipment --- projectors and old prints- on mules, horses and camels. This film is an homage to one man's passion for cinema and his struggle to survive amid a new economic system that will no longer sustain travelling cinema.
